About Us

Once upon a time a man had a dream... Kitchen Monkey was born... everybody ate well and lived happily ever after... the end.

Ok, so maybe there's a bit more to it than that so here goes.

We started Kitchen Monkey because we wanted to make life that bit easier for you & for our families too. Whether your a busy working professional, busy parents, entertaining, looking for convenient meals for a relative or students studying away from home or you just cannot cook for yourself no matter what your own circumstances we have the solution.

We wanted to make your life easier for you, leaving you time to do the thing's you want to do. Whether that is attending the gym, playing or reading with the children or simply taking time out for you. Our 'chef' prepared dishes mean you can eat hearty, wholesome, delicious meals everyday, for everymeal, for every occassion, without having to spend hours over a hot stove.

Aims/Beliefs

• All of our dishes ingredients have been carefully sourced for quality then  hand made from fresh, that's what makes all of our dishes so special. There are no conveyor belts and mass mixers in our kitchens. We simply cook in small batches from fresh following our chef's superb recipes.

• We believe in real food by creating dishes as you or I would prepare & cook at home: Using only quality locally sourced fresh ingredients like fresh vegetables and British meats and your staple kitchen cupboard ingredients.

• We use natural ingredients: Who really knows what Mono- wotsit or Sodium- thingy actually do or how to use them? No genetically modified ingredients, no hydrogenated fats and no added preservatives or additives.

• We believe in only using ingredients that you recognise and that we can trace back to their beginnings: You wouldn't expect to buy a car without seeing it's log book and service history now would you? Why should buying your dinner be any different?
  

• We believe in giving you, our customers, value for money delivering our superb frozen dishes to your doorstep no matter where you are.

• We believe in convenience: What's the point in having a freezer full of fabulous food if it's time consuming and tricky to prepare? All of our dishes can be cooked straight from frozen and ready to enjoy in minutes. Plus you can decide whether you cook in the microwave or oven which ever you prefer, just simply follow our cooking guide upon the label.

A word from Jake- founder of Kitchen Monkey:

Being a self confessed foodie and part of a busy working family, my wife and two wonderful daughters were constantly searching for something interesting to eat that did not just fill a void, but also made us happy and made us look forward to our meals.

We also had the greatest problem in that my two girls did not always want to eat what my wife or I were cooking, we wanted grown up meals and they wanted food they liked and knew.

We needed convenience by storing a selection in the freezer and we needed quick cook times so we could eat together and not impose on bed times stories and bath times. We wanted to have restaurant quality food whilst giving our daughters a selection of fine provincial ingredients in their own meals.

For us Kitchen Monkey had to be a lifestyle choice!

I have spent a great deal of time with my team, ensuring that we have the right meals, made the right way, with the right ingredients.
